Our Destinations
Destinations in the East
No matter where you start your trip along the East Coast, it begins with Amtrak Vacations. And certainly, no trip out east is complete without hitting The Big Apple. Soar high above New York City in a helicopter, go for a carriage ride in Central Park and then shop ’til you drop on 5th Avenue. Then, why not hit a Broadway show after dinner at a four-star restaurant? Then perhaps it’s on to Boston where the Freedom Trail leads you back in time to the birth of our country. You can tour Beacon Hill for the historic architecture and The Museum of Fine Arts for the world-renowned collections.
Or maybe travel south to Philadelphia, and visit Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Dig into a grilled Philly cheesesteak while you’re in the neighborhood. Also, consider traveling further south to Washington, DC, to swing by the White House, the U.S. Capitol and all the inspiring memorials and museums. But don’t forget to stop in Baltimore for fresh crab cakes and a visit to their world-class aquarium!
Destinations in the Midwest
Whether you enjoy the big city, the heartland, the great outdoors or all of the above, the Midwest has it all. And so does Amtrak Vacations. Let’s start in Chicago, where you can indulge yourself on a slice of real Chicago-style pizza; then indulge yourself at Tiffany’s on the Miracle Mile. View an exhibit at an acclaimed art museum; then get a different perspective on life from the Sears Tower skydeck.

Or even travel west to Colorado, where you can surround yourself with the majestic peaks of the Rockies. Go hiking, biking or skiing surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. No matter where you decide to go in the Midwest, you’ll find Amtrak is the best way to take you there.
Destinations in the West
Out West, the land is wide open and so are your Amtrak vacation options. Perhaps start in Seattle, where you can see the Emerald City from high above the Space Needle, and then sit down for fresh seafood from the ocean below at a waterfront restaurant. Then follow some of the most beautiful rail scenery in the country to San Francisco, where you can take a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge for the view, wind your way to Lombard Street, and then take a famous ’Frisco trolley to PIER 39 for the shops, street performers and sea lions.
Then it’s on to Los Angeles to hobnob with the stars. Take a sightseeing tour of Tinseltown, stroll the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and shop celebrity-style on Rodeo Drive. Or why not try your luck in Las Vegas, Nevada? Head to the Strip for the glitz, the shows, the hotels and of course, the gaming. The best of the West is closer than you think.
